2. Games 9 & 10
10. Tennessee 41, Ole Miss 3 (Oct. 3, 1996)
Manning got a chance to play Ole Miss, the school where his father became an SEC icon, at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis. Archie Manning said he had a feeling his son "was ready," and he completed 18 of 22 passes in a 41-3 victory. If it wasn't for a career-ending injury to his brother Cooper, Peyton Manning would have been an Ole Miss Rebel himself and never would have opened up his recruiting and chosen Tennessee.
9. Tennessee 38, Alabama 21 (Oct. 18, 1997)
The Tide were not ranked, struggling under new coach Mike DuBose, but it was still The Third Saturday in October. The Vols beat Alabama for the third year in a row. After the game, Manning led the Pride of the Southland Band in a rendition of Rocky Top inside Legion Field.
