Aug 15, 2014 9:32 AM EST

The 2014-2015 Premier League season is upon us, and that means it's time for everyone around the world to make their predictions as to which club will hoist the trophy come May.

That's why we've chosen a few of our Football.com writers to give their thoughts on how things will unfold in the Premier League this season.

After reading our writer's choices, be sure to comment and give us your picks in each category.

Most Surprising Club: Sunderland

Not to sound like an Ameri-snob, but Jozy Altidore finally gets proper service and support in the attacking third and scores 15+ goals. The Cats will continue their momentum after escaping relegation last season and finish middle of the table which is much higher than many anticipate.

Most Disappointing Club: Everton

There's a lot of expectation surrounding Everton after the summer signing of Romelu Lukaku. I think Everton lack the pace and depth to seriously challenge for a Champion's League spot and finish 5-8 which would be a disappointment for a club trying to leap into the upper echelon of the Premier League.

Premier League ChampionChelsea

The additions of Diego Costa and Felipe Luiz give Chelsea a true goal scorer up top and the best depth defensively. If Oscar, Hazard, Willian and Schurrle can build on last year's performance in the midfield, they'll be lifting the trophy at year's end.

Predicted Top Four1. Chelsea, 2. Manchester City, 3. Arsenal, 4. Manchester United

Will a Premier League Side Win the Champions League? No, Bayern Munich return as Europe's king in a lively rematch of last year's final

Most Surprising Club: QPR

The Hoops are approaching the Premier League with much more stability this time around, starting with building from the back in Caulker, Ferdinand and the returning Júlio César. Keeping Loïc Rémy fit will be vital in creating goals for a mid-table push.

Most Disappointing ClubCrystal Palace

Tony Pulis leaving 48 hours before the start of the season is disastrous. Brede Hangeland is a good signing but The Eagles only have to look to Aston Villa to see how a late departure can haunt you for several years.

Premier League ChampionChelsea

Jose Mourinho tends to win big in his second second season, and has spent the money to deliver goals up top. City will likely prioritize the Champions League, Liverpool have a lot to replace in their style after the departure of Suárez, Arsenal have work to do and United's back three worries me.

Predicted Top Four: 1. Chelsea, 2. Manchester City, 3. Arsenal, 4. Manchester United

Will a Premier League Side Win the Champions League? No, it's tough to look past either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich

Most Surprising Club:QPR

Harry Redknapp returns to the Premier League with a squad that is ready to compete. If they can hang on to Loic Remy, I could see them climbing into the mid table.

Most Disappointing Club:Liverpool

There is no way that Liverpool can replace the goals scored by Luiz Suarez last season. They will also face the burden of competing in the Champions League and do not have the depth to succeed in both competitions. I see them out of the Top 4.

Premier League Champion:Chelsea

Jose Mourinho has built a squad built to win this competition. The addition of a true striker in Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas to an already solid midfield will give them the title.

Predicted Top Four:1. Chelsea, 2. Manchester City, 3. Arsenal, 4. Everton

Will a Premier League Side Win the Champions League?Yes, Chelsea

Most Surprising Club: Sunderland

As Kyle mentioned earlier, the escape from relegation should give Sunderland a ton of momentum at the start of this season. Can they keep it going? Gus Poyet has a squad that will surprise some people this season, and this club won't even be close to relegation.

Most Disappointing Club: Liverpool

I think picking the Reds in the top four would be a mistake. Whether you like Luis Suarez or not, replacing him won't be easy. Liverpool may not have enough firepower to make up for his loss, so don't be shocked if they are extremely inconsistent.

Premier League Champion: Chelsea

It may be anti-climactic for all of us to pick Chelsea, but they're clearly the best club going into the season. Mourinho has everything he needs to put his club back on top.

Predicted Top Four: 1. Chelsea, 2. Arsenal, 3. Manchester City, 4. Manchester United

Will a Premier League Side Win the Champions League? No, Real Madrid will repeat
