Quick Inspiration on How to Become the Player You Want to Be
Becoming the player you want to be is in your hands. It’s up to you.
You can make the conscious decision that you aren’t going to be stopped until you are playing at the level you’ve always dreamed of playing. There are countless people who will help you get to this level, such as your parents, coaches, teammates, trainers, and older players you’ve always looked up to.
However, it starts with you. You decide how much you want it. You decide what your actual goal is, come up with the plan, and work towards it every single day.
Excellence doesn’t always come naturally. Sure some are born with genetics that will help them have an easier path towards success, but those who become elite athletes put in the work.
They work no matter the circumstances they find themselves in. They overcome adversity constantly. They battle, they fight, they claw their way to the top. What do they do when they get to where they want to be? They keep working. They are never done or satisfied with where they are. Becoming the player you want to be starts with having the innate desire to better yourself each and every day.
Set your goals as high as you want and then set out to achieve those goals. Make your plan for success and be sure to include the smallest of details. Many great journeys have started out with baby steps.
You have to embrace being uncomfortable.
If your development has leveled off and you feel like you aren’t getting any better, it’s extremely possible that you are too comfortable. Try pushing yourself harder and climb that next mountain of difficulty.
Anyone who is making their way to the top will slip and fall a little at some point. Don’t let your failures be final and don’t let them slow you down. Take each mistake as a learning experience, build strength from it, and keep moving towards your dreams. It’s harder to get going again once you stop, so strive to always be making some kind of progress to your goals.
Your willpower and momentum will take you as far as you want and are willing to go.
Once you become the player you’ve always wanted to be and you’ve reached the top, now it’s your job to stay there.
