The latest arrest to come out of the AFC West division is, much to the relief of John Elway and the Denver Broncos organization, from the Oakland Raiders camp. Kaluka Maiava, linebacker for the Raiders, and his brother, Ilima Maiava, have been charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal property damage, according to the Associated Press.
The 27-year-old linebacker and his 30-year-old brother have been accused of assaulting two men in a bar brawl at Life's a Beach in Kihei. The charges date all the way back to March 17, four days after he was signed from the Cincinnati Bengals and to the Raiders to a three-year, $6 million deal with the team. However, the two were not served summonses until July 2nd when prosecutors learned that they would be returning to the island.
Depending on the outcome of the trial, Maiava is likely to face discipline by the NFL for his purported actions.
