Veteran linebacker Takeo Spikes came to St. Louis on Tuesday for an audition with the St. Louis Rams. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Spikes’ free agent visit continues Wednesday.
Spikes, who is entering his 16th season in the league and has played for five different teams, was cut by the San Diego Chargers in March.
Though his age may be a red flag to some prospective teams, the 36-year-old hasn’t missed a game in the past three seasons. In fact, Spikes has missed just three games since the start of the 2007 season.
The former first-round pick has started in 215 of his 219 professional games.
Spikes recorded 78 combined tackles, half a sack, and a forced fumble with the Chargers last season.
