Cobb was born on August 22, 1990 in Maryville Tennessee. While attending Aloca High School, he was recognized as “Mr. Football” by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association as a quarterback. Cobb was also involved with the track team and was an All-District basketball player as a junior.
In college, Cobb played quarterback, running back and wide receiver all within his freshman year. He had seven rushing touchdowns, two touchdown receptions and threw an additional two touchdown passes. In his sophomore year, he became more of a wide receiver than a quarterback or running back but he scored most of his touchdowns as a ball carrier with 10 on an average 6.1 yards per carry. He accumulated a total 1,020 yards from scrimmage. In 2010 Cobb’s final collegiate year, he became the first player to rush, receive and throw for a touchdown in a single game for Kentucky in seven years. He continued to accrue large chunks of yardage as a ball carrier averaging 7.7 yards per carry and caught seven touchdown passes. He added another asset to his game by developing into an exceptional kick returner recording 736 yards in his junior year.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers selected Cobb in the second round of the 2011 draft. In his first two years, Cobb served as Green Bay’s primary kick and punt returner. In 2012, he had a breakout year as a receiver. Due to various injuries to wide receivers, he started in eight games and recorded 954 receiving yards with 8 touchdowns. He started in four games in 2013.
