Say what you will about what Missouri's defense did last year, but Maty Mauck is the reason why the Missouri Tigers went to the SEC Championship Game. When James Franklin went down with an injury against Georgia, Mauck stepped in and did exactly what he was taught.
He finished the year with 1,071 yards passing, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions. Against Florida, he threw for a season-high 295 yards.
This year, Franklin is gone and it's Mauck's team. However, he will be without Dorial Green-Beckham, L'Damien Washington and Henry Josey. So, Mauck is going to have his work cut out for him if he wants to lead the Tigers back to Atlanta.
