Ray Rice is a running back for the Baltimore Ravens. He is a three-time Pro Bowler and former Super Bowl Champion.

Early Life

Rice was born on January 22, 1987 in New Rochelle New York. He was the featured running back at New Rochelle High School and led the school to a state title in 2003. Rice is the current school record holder for most yards in a game with 462 total yards.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights

In his freshman year at Rutgers, Rice took over the starting running back position. During his freshman year in 2005, Rutgers experienced its first winning season since 1992. Rice continued to showcase his talent in the following year with 1,794 rushing yards. He had the second most rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in the NCAA that year. Rice’s legs carried the school to an overall 12th ranking in the BCS polls and tying a school record in wins with 11 season victories.

Rice led the NCAA’s Big East Conference in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns for the second straight year with 2012 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns. Despite foregoing his senior season he’s second in rushing yards in Big East Conference history with 4,926 yards.

Baltimore Ravens

In the 2008 draft, Rice was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round. In 2011, he had his most productive year as a ball carrier with 1,364 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He’s been a 1,000 yard rusher in four out of six NFL seasons. In 2013, Rice failed to reach 1,000 yards rushing for the first time in his career since his rookie season.
