RGIII To Follow Adrian Peterson Recovery Schedule
Robert Griffin III’s status for the start of training camp has not yet been decided by the Washington Redskins, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
The team is still not sure if they’re going to have him on the physically unable to perform list or on the active roster at the start of training camp. They’re allegedly following the schedule that Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson took last year when he was coming back from a torn ACL. Peterson missed just over two weeks of camp, and he was held out of every preseason game.
It was back in June that RGIII said that he would be ready for the start of training camp, but it appears that the statement was far too premature for him to have made at that point. It seems that Washington is going to take it one step at a time and go the cautious route when dealing with his recovery and return to the field. While missing out on reps with the offense could hurt his performance during the season, the team is wise to take every precaution with their prized franchise quarterback.
