The New England Patriots battered receiving corps may possibly be getting a huge upgrade as early as this Sunday.
TE Rob Gronkowski’s status for this weekend was upgraded to questionable on the team’s injury report on Friday — this after being listed as doubtful since the start of the season.
Gronkowski’s presence would make a monumental difference for a group made up primarily of young, inexperienced receivers. QB Tom Brady hasn’t had a lot of help from anyone else on offense, and they’ve just barely won their first two contests. WR Danny Amendola is still battling a groin injury, and he was officially listed as doubtful.
While it’s unlikely that Gronkowski suits up this Sunday when they face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it’s a slight ray of hope for a team looking to get healthy and back on track.
