Now that the NFL Draft is over, teams can shift their focus to training camp. With rookie minicamps, voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamps underway or coming within the next month, we can at least start the countdown to when training camps open in July. As we all watch Twitter for the “buzz” – almost entirely positive – about the rookies to pass time until camps open, we can start to get a feel for what teams may look like come September.
Although there are a few valued free agents still on the market, most teams will lock in their draft picks, maybe make a few more depth signings for camp and get ready to go to war with the roster they have. With that in mind, it's time to survey the 49ers' 2014 schedule. By finishing second in the NFC West in 2013, the Niners may get an edge over their rivals to the north with a slightly easier slate of games. However, with the NFC looking strong from top to bottom, and the NFC West duking it out with the AFC West in 2014, there's not too many easy games on the schedule.
