Serie A Preview: Totti eyes derby glory, Napoli head to Milan
Veteran striker Francesco Totti has warned bitter rivals Lazio that Roma are in the "right spirit" ahead of the Rome derby this weekend.
The 36-year-old's goal in last weekend's 3-1 victory at Parma ensured that he is now Serie A's second-top scorer, while Roma go into Sunday's game level on nine points with leaders Napoli after winning their first three league games.
And the Roma captain and club legend, who is on the verge of signing a new deal, is now eyeing victory over Lazio to continue their fine start to the new season.
He told ANSA: "I've always wanted to wear this shirt. It's the only one I love and I'll honour it until the end.
"This result is the best possible medicine and we go into the derby with the right spirit."
Lazio, though, will be full of confidence themselves having forged a five-game unbeaten derby run. Vladimir Petkovic's side come into this game off the back of an impressive 3-0 win at home to Chievo.
Leaders Napoli, meanwhile, travel to the San Siro to face a Milan side enduring an indifferent spell of form after winning once, drawing once and losing once so far in Serie A.
Massimiliano Allegri's side, who battled from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw away at Torino last weekend, are yet to secure a league clean sheet this season, and their defence should be given a thorough examination once again by Napoli, who have already found the net nine times in their last three Serie A games, with Marek Hamsik chipping in with four goals.
Milan will be without Brazilian playmaker Kaka, who has joined a long injury list that includes captain Riccardo Montolivo, Andrea Poli, Ignazio Abate, Stephan El Shaarawy and Giampaolo Pazzini.
Champions Juventus were held to a surprise 1-1 draw away at Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, and will be looking for a positive reaction at home to Hellas Verona, who have never left Turin with even a point.
Top-four hopefuls Fiorentina travel to Atalanta, while Inter head to Sassuolo, who are bottom of the table and yet get off the mark this season.
Catania will also be looking for their first points of the season this weekend, but face a stern test in the form of visitors Parma.
Elsewhere, Bologna are at home to a Torino side that will be looking to build on an impressive performance against Milan last week, while Genoa will also be looking to carry on the momentum from last week's 3-0 rout of Sampdoria at home to Livorno on Saturday.
Sampdoria themselves will be aiming to bounce back from that defeat, but face a tricky trip to Cagliari, while Chievo take on Udinese.
