Bio

Baylor’s prime backup in 2013, Linwood jumps to the head of the Baylor running back class entering the 2014 season. As a backup a year ago, Linwood delivered 881 yards on only 128 carries and topped the 100-yard mark four times. The redshirt sophomore brings a powerful build (5-8, 200) and big-play ability to the running game that helped put him on the Doak Walker watch list entering the 2014 campaign.

High School

Linwood was an all-state running back at Linden-Kildare High School in Linden, Texas, and also played quarterback, linebacker, defensive back and returned kicks. He ran for more than 2,100 and 25 touchdowns (on 241 carries) as a senior in 2011. Ranked fifth in the state in rushing yardage and was a Class 2A all-stater. Also threw for more than 700 yards and another five scores and ended up being ranked the No. 34 athlete recruit in the nation by one service as a senior.

College

As a true freshman in 2012, Linwood redshirted, though he did dress for seven of the 13 games. Things changed in 2013 when he earned considerable playing time as the backup. Had 182 and 187 yard games in back-to-back outings against Oklahoma and Texas Tech. Finished the season with a 6.9 yard per carry average. Scored in four straight games to open the season and also caught four passes for the Bears.
