Newell's Old Boys coach Gerardo Martino praised the bravery of his players after their penalty shoot-out win over Boca Juniors on Wednesday.
The Old Boys moved into the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores with the victory, which came after an epic penalty shoot-out.
With neither side able to produce a goal in two legs, it was left to a sudden-death shootout to decide the tie, and Maxi Rodriguez was able to convert the crucial spot-kick to hand the Old Boys a 10-9 shootout win.
Martino said he was proud of his players after the match.
"I am in charge of a good team that I am proud of be part of it as another member of the staff as well," Martino said.
"I have to lead a group of brave players to develop a very brave strategy and I think that this is the main feature of these players even if we had have been eliminated in the last eight or in the group stage.
"Now that we are in semi-finals, I still say the same."
