Bio

T.Y. Hilton is a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts. He played his college football at Florida International University and was drafted in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

EARLY YEARS

Hilton was born on November 14, 1989 in Miami, Florida. As a senior at Miami Springs High School, Hilton was named a First-Team All-Dade player by the Miami Herald after recording 785 yards and 16 TDs. He also returned four kickoffs for TDs in 10 games.

He chose to go to FIU over West Virginia after his son picked FIU out of a hat six times in a row the night before National Signing Day.

FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Hilton had 41 receptions as a freshman on his way to 1,013 yards and a 24.7 yards per catch. He scored seven receiving TDs and two rushing TDs.

As a junior in 2010, Hilton was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He had 59 catches for 848 yards and five receiving TDs. He also had 30 rushing attempts for 282 yards and four TDs.

His 37 career TDs is the fifth-most in Sun Belt Conference History and his 3,531 receiving yards is the most in conference history.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Hilton was drafted in the third round (92nd overall) in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Colts.

After being used as a slot receiver and a kick returner as a rookie, Hilton was forced to step up in his second season when Reggie Wayne was forced to miss the second half of the season. Hilton responded by totaling 82 receptions, 1,083 yards, and five TDs.

In his first playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Hilton recorded 13 catches for 224 yards and two TDs. His 224 yards are the third-most by a receiver in the playoff game in NFL history.
