Takeaways From The Cowboys-Giants Opener

Created on Sept. 12, 2013 5:00 AM EST

George Selvie proved he could handle starting for Anthony Spencer, Miles Austin showed he’s still dangerous with space to run, and Dwayne Harris single-handedly made the Cowboys’ special teams look formidable.

Every defensive player operates on a strip-first, tackle-second wavelength. And Dan Bailey still looks deadly accurate with his kicks.

Bottom line: This team is complete; at least on paper or until injuries hit. There’s plenty of room for improvement, but Week 1 dispelled any doubts about the talents and capabilities of the 2013 Cowboys.
