According to Jerome Solomon of the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Texans will lose SS Danieal Manning for the next 6-8 weeks with a right knee injury. Manning was initially diagnosed with a hyperextended knee, but an MRI revealed a more serious injury, and we still haven’t learned exactly what that injury is.
"It's something that's going to take some time," Kubiak said. "We're trying to evaluate exactly how much time before we make decisions on moving forward."
This is a huge blow to an already struggling Texans defense. Rookie D.J. Swearinger will likely have a larger role in Manning's absence.
"Obviously Shiloh moves up right away," Kubiak said. "They're interchangeable from that standpoint. Brandon Harris can also go back there and play some safety for us. We'll see where this evaluation goes."
