Texans QB Matt Schaub Injured In Loss
By Allen Kim
A week after being benched and demands by fans throughout the week to be replaced in the starting lineup, Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub was injured with a lower right leg injury. The injury happened when he was sacked by Chris Long in the third quarter of their matchup against the St. Louis Rams.
Schaub finished the day with 186 yards on 15-of-21 attempts with no touchdowns or interceptions.
The fans in Houston cheered after he was injured and had to leave the game, and they cheered even louder when backup TJ Yates replaced him in the lineup. Yates, however, threw a 98-yard pick six to rookie Alec Ogletree with 36 seconds remaining in the third quarter. He would end up finishing the game with 98 throwing yards on 12-of-17 throws with two interceptions.
Arian Foster carried the load for Houston’s offense, toting the rock 20 times for 141 rushing yards while adding another 57 yards through the air on four receptions. They were still blown out 38-13 by the Rams, and things are really unraveling in Houston.
If Schaub is out for any amount of time and Yates has to remain as their starter, they’re in big trouble.
