Coach Kliff Kingsbury, the former Texas Tech star quarterback, is 34 years old, single, and well-liked by a certain demographic of the fan base.

It appears the Red Raiders tried to take advantage of his sex appeal Friday as part of a tennis promotion on Valentine's Day. Among other items, Texas Tech gave away a breakfast date with Kingsbury as part of a match-day raffle.

The school appeared to straddle the line between framing it as a simple breakfast and actual date, with Dinah Goodson in athletic promotions comparing the coaches' looks to Ryan Gosling on a local news spot.

KLBK-TV even encouraged "all you single ladies" to go to the tennis match, and employed a few lines ironically that made Kingsbury sound a little creepy.

"Well it may look empty now, but tomorrow, hundreds of young girls will pack into the McLeod Tennis Center," a KLBK-TV anchor said. "But they won't be here just to watch Texas Tech tennis. They'll be here to try to win a breakfast date with coach Kliff Kingsbury."

The athletic department sent out a tweet that included a picture of a smiling young blonde in a short skirt clutching a photo of Kingsbury, identifying her as Cerisa, the winner of the date.

It will be interesting to see if any of the fellow Big 12 fan bases use the material to crack on Texas Tech this season.
