Tim Tebow Cut By The New England Patriots

New England Patriots QB Tim Tebow has been cut from the 53-man roster, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The once playoff-winning quarterback and Heisman trophy winner has been cut after an average preseason with the Patriots. Tebow finished his last game, completing 6-of-11 passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Giants, and he was 11-of-30 with 145 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions throughout the preseason.
Tebow was hoping to gain the third-string quarterback position behind QBs Ryan Mallet and Tom Brady. Apparently the Patriots organization did not feel the need to keep Tebow on board for the 2013 season. Tebow was mainly seen as an offensive experiment more than a legitimate backup quarterback option.
“I would like to thank Mr. Kraft, Coach Belichick, Coach McDaniels and the entire Patriots organization for giving me the opportunity to be a part of such a classy organization. I pray for nothing but the best for you all. I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback.”
Tebow was selected with the twenty-fifth pick in the 2010 draft and has previously played for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets.
