Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker was carted off the field in the third quarter against the New York Jets with a right hip injury. The injury occurred with about 11 minutes left in the third quarter when Jets DL Muhammad Wilkerson hit Locker, which threw Locker right into Jets LB Quinton Coples. It’s tough to say whether the injury occurred when Wilkerson hit him or if it was the hip check Coples gave him.
Locker was having a great game, leading the Titans to a 24-6 lead up until he went down. He completed 18-of-24 pass attempts for 149 yards and three touchdowns, while running three times for another 17 yards on the ground.
Trainers immediately came to look in on him, and he was immobilized and carted off the field. An ambulance was seen waiting for Locker as a precautionary measure.
Ryan Fitzpatrick took over for Locker following the injury, and we’ll keep you updated on Locker’s status as news comes in.
