Seven days after its rematch with Appalachian State, Michigan will play one of its biggest games of the year. The Wolverines travel to South Bend for the final meeting for the foreseeable future, against the Fighting Irish.
The two winningest programs in NCAA history will see their rivalry game end thanks to Notre Dame exercising its option to end it following this season. After the 2013 victory in Ann Arbor, the Wolverines responded by playing "The Chicken Dance" over the loud speakers. This heated, but respected, rivalry game will be intense.
Both schools are looking for surprise performances in 2014, but it all will start with this game. The eyes of the nation will be on it because we do not know when we'll get the chance to see it again.
It is a shame it is ending, and that alone pushes it very high up the list of must-watch nonconference games.
