Shootout! We all knew the Badgers would be able to stop the Ducks, and they didn’t with Oregon rushing for 345 yards. But the Ducks couldn’t contain Wisconsin, which totaled more than 500 yards of offense.
It was going to come down to who had the ball last — almost. A crazy fumble while the Baders were driving somehow stayed in bounds. Oregon pounced on it and ran four minutes off the clock. But Russell Wilson and Wisconsin went 62 yards in two plays after getting ball back.
We all remember Wilson and his crew hustling down the field and assembling his team in perfect position for one final play only to watch the clock hit zero a fraction of a second before he could spike it.
It is the highest scoring game in Rose Bowl history and the first time Oregon won the Rose Bowl in 90 years.
