The Washington Redskins surprised several experts during the 2012 NFL Draft when they selected Cousins in the fourth round out of Michigan State, largely because the team had already selected the future face of the franchise with the second overall pick in Robert Griffin III.
The move paid off, however, as Griffin was banged up a few times during his rookie campaign. Cousins stepped in and performed well overall.
