Bio

Vincent Lamont Mason, Jr., usually known by the name Tre Mason, was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on August 6, 1993. A running back for the St. Louis Rams, he was selected in the 2014 NFL Draft. Previously, he played college football for the Auburn Tigers, helping the team to win a Southeastern Conference Championship.

During his youth, Mason played football at Park Vista Community High School, located in Lake Worth. In 2009, he was named first team All-Palm Beach County and received Palm Beach Large School Offensive Player of the Year honors. As a senior, Mason registered 1,643 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns, receiving recognition from recruitment analysts as one of the top running back prospects of his high school class. Despite offers from West Virginia University and the University of Mississippi, he decided to attend Auburn University.

Mason made his Auburn Tigers debut in 2011, in a game against Utah State, where he was able to return a kick-off 97 yards for a touchdown. However, he served as a backup player during the season and was only able to record 161 rushing yards for the entire year. He became a more prominent figure for the team in 2012 and was able to rush for 1,002 yards and eight touchdowns.

As a junior, Mason helped guide the Tigers to the SEC Championship, contributing a school record 1,816 rushing yards for 23 touchdowns throughout the entire season. In the SEC Championship Game, he set new rushing and touchdown records for the SEC Championship, with 304 rushing yards and four touchdowns, and was subsequently named as the game's MVP. Although the team were unsuccessful in capturing the BCS National Championship, Mason was able to eclipse Bo Jackson's school record for rushing yards in a single season during the Championship Game. At the end of the season, Mason was a first team All-SEC and second team All-American selection.

In January 2014, Mason confirmed his decision to bypass his senior year and enter the NFL Draft. He was eventually selected by the St. Louis Rams in the third round, with the 75th overall pick.
