Bio

Trevor Knight was born in San Antonio, Texas. A quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners, he was named as the 2014 Sugar Bowl's Most Valuable Player, after throwing four touchdown passes during the game.

While living in San Antonio, Knight went to Ronald Reagan High School, where he enjoyed excellent junior and senior years. As a junior, he broke the 1,000 yard rushing mark and registered 22 rushing touchdowns to go along with his 1,629 passing yards and 11 passing touchdowns. Then, as a senior, he was credited with 2,092 passing yards and 27 passing touchdowns, combined with 15 rushing touchdowns from 943 rushing yards. After attracting the attention of various schools around the country, he committed to playing college football at the University of Oklahoma.

After enrolling at Oklahoma, Knight redshirted in 2012, before making his debut for the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2013 season. He made an instant impact in his first game, throwing three touchdown passes and rushing for over 100 yards off 13 carries in a winning effort against the ULM Warhawks.

Over the course of the full year, he made appearances in eight games, starting five of them and rushing for a total of 819 yards. He also contributed nine touchdown passes, two rushing touchdowns and accumulated 445 rushing yards off 67 carries. His best individual rushing performance of the season came against Iowa State in November, when he was able to rush for 123 yards, including a 56 yard rushing touchdown. Oklahoma finished the year with a 10-2 winning record and were selected to particpate in the Sugar Bowl.

In January 2014, Knight was named as the starting quarterback for the 2014 Sugar Bowl and helped the Sooners to secure a 45-31 upset victory against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Prior to the game, Alabama had been considered a 17-point favorite, meaning that Oklahoma were able to overcome the largest spread in the history of the Bowl Championship Series. During the game, Knight completed 32 of his 44 pass attempts for 348 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. His excellent performance saw him named as the 2014 Sugar Bowl MVP.
