The Line Reacts To The Colts Shipping Out Shipley
The Indianapolis Colts continued to overhaul the team’s offensive line Thursday morning when they traded center A.Q. Shipley to the Baltimore Ravens for a conditional 2014 NFL Draft pick.
A graduate of Penn State, Shipley was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2009 NFL Draft. After spending time on the practice squads of the Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and the Colts, Shipley saw his first NFL playing time in 2012 when he started four times and appeared in 13 games.
Here are the reactions of various Colts players on Twitter to the news of Shipley’s trade. Not surprisingly, most came from fellow offensive linemen.
A.Q. Shipley @aqshipley: “Just wanted to say thank you to all the people in the colts organization who gave me an opportunity last year to show what i can do! It was ... An amazing year and i cant say enough about them and all the awesome fans in this beautiful city of indianapolis! I look forward to going ... To baltimore and continuing my journey and to do everything i can to help the ravens organization win! #RavensNation ... All indy fans thank you for all the kind words and all ravens fans thanks so much for the warm welcomes! Looking forward to my opportunity!”
Mike McGlynn @Greezy_75: “Congrats to my little bro @aqshipley on being traded to the Ravens. A great teammate and a even better friend.”
Bradley Sowell @Bradley60Sowell: “I'm gonna miss my dude @aqshipley ... Great guy and can knock the s**t out of a golf ball !!! Good luck man”
