A spark plug in the middle of the Fresno State Bulldog defense, Davison uses his 6-2, 310-pound frame to clog the middle and push the pocket. In 2013, he did that well enough to earn second-team all-Mountain West at noseguard. He’s no stranger to post-season honors, having been named a first-team all-Mountain West selection in 2012. Has started the past 26 games and played in all 39 games the Bulldogs have had over the past three years. He’ll enter 2014 as one of the most experienced interior defensive linemen.
A product of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Deseret Mountain High School, Davison was named all-region on both offense and defense as a senior. He was selected the Offensive Lineman of the Year and recorded 10 sacks and forced three fumbles. For his career, he recorded 109 tackles and 13 sacks. Was a state champion for the wrestling team as a senior.
Redshirted as a freshman in 2010, the got into the action in 2011. He was selected to the academic all-WAC team. He played all 13 games as a reserve and was credited with 16 tackles. In 2012, he started all 13 games and had 43 tackles, tops among Bulldog defensive linemen. Had seven tackles for loss and three sacks. In 2013, he again started 13 games and recorded 41 tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. He also broke up two passes and had a quarterback hurry on the season.
