Three matches on Saturday
Fenix v Miramar
Fenix continues to lead the Clausura table. Miramar Misiones are the opposite struggling to remain in the first division. Fenix is seeking to maintain at the top of the table but is dependent on other teams results. Fenix lost the advantage of solely leading the Clausura in the fixture against River. A last minute goal by River took the lead away from Fenix to result in a draw.
Miramar continues to be unable to find victory but needs it to maintain in the first division. Not achieving it this weekend Miramar will be one point more committed to relegation even though Miramar’s points double.
Racing v Sud America
Racing has been performing well in the last three matches. As for the visitor, the win will be important to continue to move up on the table.
Penarol v Cerro
Penarol are coming off a victory and are looking to continue on a victorious streak. A win for Penarol would make los Carboneros climb to the top of the table. During, the week defeated Arsenal de Sarandi to maintain alive in the continental tournament.
As for the visitor, there is a lot of concern. During the week Cerro played River, a match that was postponed in round three of the Clausura. Cerro was not able to take one point from that game. However, did managed to win last weekend by defeating Defensor which gave Cerro a bit of breathing room, but they are only three points away to get relegated.
On Sunday, there are five matches.
Cerro Largo v Liverpool
For this faceoff, both come with losses on their backs. On the side of the local, it has been two straight games with landslide losses. As or Liverpool, last weekend’s match resulted in a loss against Sud America. Liverpool has not seen victory since the match against El Tanque in the fifth round of the Clausura.
River v Wanderers
The Clasico of El Prado, will be on of the most attractive fixtures of round 8. Los bohemios, are visiting El Parque Saroldi with a big victory against Nacional last Saturday. River, during the week climbed to the top of tournament after defeating Cerro.
Rentistas v El Tanque
El Tanque will seek to return to see a victory once again at the Los Bichos Colorados stadium.
Danubio v Defensor
Another Classico for this weekend. Both, Defensor and Danubio seek to pull an advantage. Danubio in search of not losing their position will receive los Violetas at Jardines. Defensor has been performing better Internationally than locally with a great performance against Cruzeiro in Libertadores.
Nacional v Juventud
To close the round eight at Nacional at 18:00(EST) will measure against Juventud at El Parque Central. Los bolsilludos, with another week they want to put behind them, must win to maintain at the top of Clausura and Annual table. Meanwhile, Juventud is obligated to win to stay away from relegation.
