Varane to miss end of season

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane will miss the remainder of the season as he requires surgery on his right knee.
The 20-year-old stumbled in Real's 1-1 draw with Espanyol on Saturday and had to be substituted within the first 20 minutes.
On his official Twitter account, Varane said: "I am sad! The tests today have revealed an injury to the meniscus. They are going to operate on me as soon as possible."
The France international had been in good form for Real, having forged a strong centre-back partnership with Sergio Ramos, but will now miss the Copa del Rey final against rivals Atletico Madrid on Friday and the two final La Liga games.
Having lost the defender, manager Jose Mourinho told Canal Plus that he had cover in that position.
"We have alternatives. It's a position where we have people who are playing, and who are fit," he said.
"Obviously, we are sad that he could miss a game everyone would want to play in, but we aren't going to over-dramatise because we have options in that position."
Varane will also miss France’s tour to South America next month.
