The NFL has banned Minnesota Vikings FB Jerome Felton for three games for violating the league's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. The exact cause of the suspension stems from a DWI which was later reduced to reckless driving and a DWI from four years before that.
He’ll be missing away games versus the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears and their home opener against the Cleveland Browns. But he’ll return in time for the Vikings’ Week 4 showdown at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Adrian Peterson will certainly miss Felton opening up some running lanes for him. Although, Felton is already recovering from an emergency appendectomy, so he likely wasn’t going to be at full strength to start the regular season anyway. Peterson can only hope that Felton returns 100-percent healthy and ready to block for him.
Felton, who made the Pro Bowl last season, was rewarded with a three-year, $7.5 million deal during the offseason.
