Jackson was born on January 14, 1983 in Colorado Spring, Colorado. At Widefield High School, he was an All-State Honorable Mention, a member of the all-area first-team and first-team all-conference as a senior. He was set to go to Columbia due to academics, but decided to go to the University of Northern Colorado on a partial scholarship to play football and basketball.
UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN COLORADO
As a true freshman and during his first career touch, Jackson returned a punt for a TD against Adams State College on his way to earning All-American honors as a punt returner.
He left the Bears as the all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards, kick return yards, punt return yards, and receiving TDs.
SAN DIEGO CHARGERS
Jackson was drafted by the San Diego Chargers with the 29th pick (61st overall) in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft.
After a three-reception rookie season, Jackson started seven games in his second season and finished with six TDs.
In 2009, Jackson would be named to his first Pro-Bowl after making 68 catches for 1,167 yards and nine TDs. He would hit nine TDs again in 2011, sixth in the NFL, and earn his second trip to the Pro-Bowl.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
Jackson signed a 5-year, $55 million contract with the Buccaneers on March 13, 2012 and was named team captain.
Since then, Jackson has started all 32 games, catching 150 passes for 2,608 yards, including a career-high 1,384 yards in 2012, and 15 TDs.
