What the New Youth Soccer Safety Rules Mean For Your Child

You've probably heard by now about U.S. Youth Soccer's pioneering moves on heading and safety for youngsters.
The new govermance and protocols will be announced within the next couple of weeks, dealing with possible concussiuons and restrictions on heading for the younger players.
Training focused on tackling for outfield players and diving for goalkeepers will be among the concerns that will be addressed. Former US star Brandi Chastain is among the top former pros spearheading moves to ban heading for the youngest kids.
For now, U.S. Soccer has released this video featuring NSCAA Director of Coaching Education Ian Barker and US Youth Soccer Director of Coaching Sam Snow discussing the recent concussion litigation resolution, what changes might happen, and how coaches can implement them within their club system.
