Wolfsburg confident over Gustavo

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs believes his side have a good chance of signing Bayern Munich midfielder Luiz Gustavo.
The Brazil international, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, but Arsene Wenger could be set to miss out on yet another transfer target, having already seen the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Clement Grenier and Jesus Navas slip through his grasp.
Allofs is confident of tying up a deal for the former Hoffenheim man, who made 36 appearances last term as Bayern swept the board, winning the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and UEFA Champions League.
The Volkswagen Stadion side have bolstered their ranks with five signings ahead of the new season, but Gustavo would likely top their highest fee paid out so far for Timm Klose - who joined from Nuremburg for a reported €6million fee.
Bayern are thought to be looking for around €17m for the defensive midfielder.
"We cannot confirm the transfer as he was with the Brazilian national team yesterday, so there were no further discussions," Allofs said.
"He will leave Bayern and our chances are not bad.
"He does not want to leave his decision until August 31. I think his decision will be imminent."
