The emotional edge is easy to understand. Riley Wilkerson summed it up bluntly: “Foi de partir o coração não disputar a pós-temporada no ano passado.
That matters because programs in this position can drift into vague optimism. Missouri does not appear to be doing that. The update says the veterans have lived through the rebuild and now expect more, while a well-regarded freshman group is reportedly being asked to raise the floor immediately rather than simply wait its turn.
The report says Missouri tightened up defensively over time, but the attack remains the main objective. If that changes, the season can look very different very quickly.
That sounds like a coach who believes the hard part - building buy-in - is already done.
What comes next is more practical:
A preseason win can encourage, but the official test starts now. Western Kentucky offers the first chance to show whether the sharper edge Buels described is real. If Missouri finds goals early in the season, the postseason talk will only grow louder. If not, the same old questions will return just as fast.
