Washington, DC Bars Prepare for a Global World Cup

Team USA leads the charge

The clearest local alignment is with the United States, with Solace Outpost in Navy Yard planning to show the entire tournament with sound. Its American Outlaws partnership will add a Team USA drumline and a tournament-specific pilsner for the biggest fixtures.

  • Franklin Hall will host Croatia’s official watch parties.
  • Lucky Bar is targeting Australian supporters for selected matches.
  • Ivy and Coney is positioning itself around England and US fixtures.

Butterworth’s will screen major games upstairs, while Duke’s Grocery and The Queen Vic are also preparing for England, Scotland and US supporters.

Embassy ties add an international edge

Washington’s diplomatic character is reflected in the watch-party plans. Four Courts in Arlington will host Swedish Embassy and US events, with every game shown with sound.

Aslin Beer Company is working with embassies linked to Austria, Croatia, Germany and Côte d’Ivoire, alongside a tournament beer. German supporters also have options at The Brig, which expects both US and Germany fans.

Belgium has a particularly strong presence. Dacha’s Navy Yard and Shaw locations will stage Belgium-themed events, while The Sovereign and St Arnold’s Mussel Bar are planning promotions around Belgium matches.

A city-wide football festival

For fans without a preferred pub, the Fan Zone on the National Mall offers a broader alternative. It is expected to show daytime group-stage matches, selected evening US games and every knockout fixture from the last 16 through the final.

With kickoff approaching, the main storyline will be whether DC’s carefully divided supporter hubs can match the noise, colour and drama of the tournament itself.
