Latest Championship Predicted Table and Power Rankings

Prediction is not position

A predicted table is a projection, not a record of completed results. It attempts to translate current performance, squad strength and remaining fixtures into an expected final order. That makes it useful for identifying broad trends, but far less reliable as a verdict on any club’s season.

The Championship’s long campaign creates particular uncertainty. Injuries, managerial changes, fixture congestion and January recruitment can all reshape the picture before the run-in. A club projected for promotion still has to turn that expectation into points.

Why Power Rankings matter

Power Rankings usually focus more closely on present strength and recent momentum than on the final destination. That distinction can expose a team whose current performances are stronger than its position, or a high-standing side whose results have begun to soften.

The report’s ranking should therefore be viewed alongside form rather than in isolation. A fast-rising team may be building a genuine challenge, while a drop in the rankings can flag pressure before it becomes visible in the table. Neither signal confirms what will happen, but both can sharpen the questions around a club’s trajectory.

The forecast will keep moving

The value of the update lies less in any single predicted position than in the changes that follow. Every result can alter the expected promotion contenders, play-off contenders and teams facing a survival fight.

The next run of fixtures will provide the first test of the forecast. If the leading projections are matched by sustained results, confidence in the ranking will grow. If the Championship produces another shift in form, the next update could look markedly different.
