France v Sweden: MetLife Stadium Travel and Parking Guide

Rail remains the preferred option

NJ Transit has carried an average of about 24,000 fans per match during the tournament, against a stated capacity of 40,000. The report says rail is still expected to be the quickest option for supporters who have not finalised their travel plans.

Shuttle availability is more uneven:

  • $20 tickets were reportedly still available from Columbus Circle and a location east of Grand Central.
  • Services from Port Authority Bus Terminal and Nutley were sold out by mid-morning.
  • Shuttle capacity from some departure points was already under pressure.

The split between available rail capacity and sold-out shuttle departures makes early planning particularly important.

Driving could mean a long exit

For those choosing to drive or use a rideshare service, 4,700 parking spaces are available at American Dream. Prices reportedly start at $225 per match, making parking both limited and expensive.

Supporters arriving early for a previous fixture were said to have experienced a smooth journey into the stadium complex, although traffic built up after the final whistle. That pattern could be repeated when knockout-stage tension keeps fans in the area until late.

A dry day with temperatures in the high 80s and potentially the low 90s later is also forecast, adding another reason to allow extra time and carry water.

The next destination

The report says the winner of France v Sweden is scheduled to face Paraguay in Philadelphia on 4 July in the last 16. For supporters, the first test is reaching MetLife efficiently; for the teams, the next challenge begins immediately after the final whistle.
