San Lorenzo Women Accuse Club Over Medical Care and Pay

Medical coverage at the centre

The update says the squad has been without regular medical coverage for more than a year, with no doctor present at training despite repeated requests. Players who need examinations or treatment have reportedly relied on Argentina’s public health system or paid out of pocket.

That claim is particularly significant because San Lorenzo announced a partnership with Hospital Italiano in 2022, which was intended to provide medical coverage for the women’s team. The players’ account, if accurate, points to a breakdown between that agreement and their current working conditions.

Bonuses, contracts and basic support

The squad reportedly says only part of its 2025 bonuses were paid, while bonuses for the first half of 2026 remain outstanding. It also claims most players did not receive salary adjustments linked to Argentina’s consumer price index or the agreed AFA percentage.

The update adds that the team travelled to face Banfield on September 11 without a club-provided bus. Players reportedly used private cars and ride-hailing services, yet still secured a 1-1 draw. The squad also says it received only one worn set of training equipment.

These complaints follow an August letter to president Marcelo Culotta and an earlier dispute over a proposed July 2025 pre-season trip to Mendoza.

Results have not masked the problem

Despite the reported issues, San Lorenzo’s form has remained strong. The team reportedly won three matches at the start of September and sits third in the Clausura with 15 points. It also won the 2024 Clausura and finished runner-up in the 2026 Apertura, according to the update.

The next test is institutional rather than tactical. San Lorenzo’s response on medical provision, pending payments, salary reviews and travel arrangements will determine whether the dispute deepens or moves towards resolution.
