The report says three boys’ volleyball teams will be recognised for state titles in 1996, 1997 and 1998. Four girls’ tennis teams will also enter the Hall of Fame after championship seasons from 2001 through 2004.
That makes seven championship teams central to the class. Their inclusion reflects sustained success rather than a single standout campaign, with the volleyball and tennis programmes producing multiple title-winning groups across different eras.
The individual section includes 16 inductees, with football and association football represented alongside wrestling, track, basketball, lacrosse, swimming, baseball, gymnastics and tennis.
The report identifies Brian Barr, a Class of 1982 graduate, for football, wrestling and track. Scott Peeler is recognised for football and baseball, while Andrew Sever joins the class for association football.
Other football-related inductees include Katie Boyle, who competed in association football, basketball and lacrosse, as well as Tifany McCall and Shanna Greene. Their inclusion underlines the multi-sport character of the class and the different ways athletes contributed to Cherry Hill East’s athletic identity.
The class also honours coaches Frank McAleer and Archie Stalcup, whose work covered football and other sports, alongside athletic department contributor Dawn Hoffman. The report says candidates came from graduating classes between 1970 and 2016, with eligibility requiring former students to have graduated and been away from the school for at least 10 years.
The next milestone is the 28 November banquet. If the reported schedule holds, it will provide the setting for Cherry Hill East to celebrate not just champions, but the coaches, contributors and multi-sport athletes who shaped its sporting history.
