Achraf Hakimi Appeal Rejected as Rape Case Moves to Trial

Appeal rejected, trial remains

Hakimi’s legal team had sought to overturn the decision sending him to trial. Fanny Colin, the player’s lawyer, stressed that the latest ruling was procedural rather than a judgment on the allegation.

“Os fatos imputados a Achraf Hakimi, que ele contesta firmemente desde o primeiro dia, não foram examinados pela Corte de Cassação,” Colin said.

Hakimi has reportedly cooperated with investigators and provided DNA to authorities. His defence is expected to present its arguments during the trial, while the Morocco international remains publicly firm in his denial.

Both sides prepare their case

The woman’s lawyer, Rachel-Flore Pardo, said her client intends to continue pursuing a judicial decision after what she described as a lengthy legal battle.

“Após três anos e meio de batalha judicial, após ser difamada e atacada pela defesa de Achraf Hakimi, minha cliente está determinada a obter justiça e lutará até o fim,” Pardo said.

Those competing positions underline why the court proceedings will be the decisive next stage. Neither side’s public statements replace the examination of evidence in court.

Football takes a back seat

Hakimi remains a prominent figure for PSG and Morocco, but the case will continue to cast a shadow over his professional life. His standing in the game, including his place among elite full-backs, cannot resolve a matter that now moves toward a trial.

The next major storyline will be the court timetable and the arguments presented by both legal teams. Until then, Hakimi’s denial and the woman’s pursuit of justice remain sharply opposed positions awaiting judicial examination.
