The nominations are spread across schools, but two programs account for eight of the 19 candidates.
The remaining nominees represent Whitehall, Spring Lake, Hart, Fruitport, North Muskegon, Ravenna and Ludington, giving the contest a broad regional footprint.
The report says coaches made the nominations, while previous appearances on Athlete of the Week lists were also considered. That gives the award two distinct elements: recognition from people who followed the players throughout the season and a final decision shaped by public voting.
The list includes established school programs and individual candidates from across the Muskegon area. For the players, the nomination itself places their autumn campaigns in a wider spotlight; for supporters, the vote offers a chance to reward consistency, leadership and influence on the field.
The immediate deadline is October 4, when voting ends and the senior winners are due to be revealed. The wider awards programme then moves beyond the senior category.
A report says the leading junior athletes are scheduled to be announced on October 6, followed by recognition for other school grades on October 13. The senior vote is therefore the opening result in a broader series of seasonal awards, with the final storyline now resting on which of the 19 nominees can turn local recognition into the strongest public backing.
