Five Fort Collins High-School Athletes Up for Vote

Davis sets the soccer benchmark

Porter Davis leads the soccer nominations after a reported scoring burst for Windsor Charter Academy. The senior forward followed a four-goal performance against Sterling with six more against Wellington, adding two assists in a 10-0 win.

The report says Davis contributed to 10 goals across the two matches, while Windsor Charter also beat Sterling 7-2. That combination of finishing and creation gives him a strong case on a ballot built around decisive individual displays.

Liberty Common’s Thomas Allori offers a different profile. The update says he scored once and created the other goal in the Eagles’ 2-0 victory at Berthoud, directly influencing both goals.

Three nominees from other sports

The ballot also rewards athletes whose performances came in major competitive moments:

  • Jonah Kent, Fossil Ridge golf: reported five-under-par 67 and tournament victory at the Bobblehead Invitational.
  • Kasey Nelson, Fossil Ridge tennis: won both singles matches without dropping a set as the team reached the Class 5A semi-finals.
  • Rigby Ruffer, Rocky Mountain cross-country: finished second at the Pat Amato Classic in a reported 16:10.50.

Kent’s round helped Fossil Ridge claim the team title, while Nelson’s straight-set victories came during wins over Denver East and Mountain Vista, according to the report. Ruffer’s result marked the best performance of his debut varsity season.

Voting deadline approaches

The update says fans can vote until noon on 8 October, with the winner to be announced after the ballot closes. The range of sports makes the contest difficult to predict: Davis brings volume scoring, while Kent, Nelson and Ruffer offer results from postseason or high-level competition.

The next storyline is whether the eventual winner can carry this form into the next stage of the school calendar, as team championships and late-season meets approach.
