Everett Group Granted Exclusive Rights for USL League One

Stadium question comes first

The proposed club is closely linked to Everett’s planned Outdoor Event Centre in the downtown area. The report says the venue could cost about $120 million, making stadium financing a central test for the project.

City officials have identified football leases and league-related funding as important parts of the scheme. That means the club’s prospects will be tied not only to investor interest, but also to whether the stadium plan can secure broad political and public support.

For Rivera and Carswell, the venue would need to become more than a football ground. It would have to anchor a wider redevelopment vision and provide enough year-round activity to justify the investment.

A regional opportunity

The USL believes an Everett team could develop rivalries with clubs in Spokane and Eugene, while League One continues to move towards a more regional structure. That would reduce travel demands and give a new franchise an immediate competitive geography.

The group is also considering men’s and women’s professional teams, although the report makes clear that remains an option rather than a settled plan. Community input is expected to shape the proposal as it develops.

The next storyline is whether Everett can turn exclusive rights into a fully funded ownership group, a viable stadium agreement and a club that the region genuinely claims as its own.
