The Vikings set the tone early, registering 16 shots, including 11 before half-time, while limiting St. Joseph Hill to five attempts. That control turned a potentially tense game into a measured performance, particularly after a nine-day gap between matches.
Hill goalkeeper Sophia Personette kept the score down with nine saves, while Sea goalkeeper Isabella Nemia made four stops to secure the clean sheet. The clearest Hill opportunity came from Ella Martin, whose long-range free-kick bounced dangerously in front of Nemia before the goalkeeper reacted to keep it out.
Sea broke through five minutes before the interval. Ava Perlman’s cross reached Kaylyn Caruso, whose sharp-angle effort was saved by Personette. Barth reacted quickest to the rebound and finished from close range.
The second goal arrived eight minutes after the restart. Julianna Sidotti supplied Almodovar, who took a touch under pressure before placing a 15-yard shot into the bottom-left corner.
Those finishes reflected the Vikings’ greater attacking volume, but the result also rested on defensive discipline. Christine Basciano, Charlotte Lauro, Perlman and Stella Monaco helped protect the lead as Hill struggled to turn possession into clear chances.
Four wins from four in CHSAA Tier 1 gives St. Joseph by-the-Sea an early advantage in the league race. The balance between attacking pressure and defensive control is becoming a defining feature of the Vikings’ unbeaten overall start.
The next league fixture will test whether Sea can maintain that level after a result that combined efficient finishing with another composed defensive display.
