Southland Boys Football Rankings: St. Laurence Leads

St. Laurence sets the standard

The latest update keeps St. Laurence at No. 1 after the Vikings reportedly secured the Catholic League Blue title with a 1-0 victory over Mount Carmel. The report lists them at 20-1-2 through Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Noah Mendez is credited with the clean sheet, reinforcing the defensive structure behind St. Laurence’s position at the top. Goals from defenders have also featured prominently in the latest movement, underlining how much the leading teams are relying on contributions across the pitch.

Stagg remains second after a reported 2-0 win over Homewood-Flossmoor, while Lincoln-Way Central holds third following another 2-0 result against Andrew. Lincoln-Way East stays fourth, with defender Yousef Tadros reportedly scoring both goals in its win over Andrew.

Providence and Lemont gain ground

Providence rises to sixth after goalkeeper Aleksander Chavez reportedly helped secure a 2-0 shutout against St. Ignatius. The Celtics are listed at 14-4-2 and appear close to claiming the Catholic League White title.

Lemont also climbs one place to seventh. The report says Gabriel Zayricki supplied three assists in a 9-0 victory over Evergreen Park, a result that confirmed the South Suburban Blue championship.

Lockport remains fifth, although forward Josue Arroyo gives the team an emerging attacking threat after scoring in a 3-1 win over Lincoln-Way West.

De La Salle searches for a response

De La Salle is the main faller, dropping from sixth to eighth after a reported 0-3-2 run in October. Kevin Gates remains central to the Meteors’ hopes of recovering before the postseason.

Oak Lawn stays ninth after winning the South Suburban Red title, while Sandburg enters the top 10 at No. 10. The next fixtures will determine whether Providence and Lemont can continue rising-and whether De La Salle can reverse its slide before sectional play.
