NWSL Week 13: Records, Milestones and Golden Boot Race

Gotham landmarks and Kurtz’s durability

The report says González scored twice to reach 30 goals for Gotham, moving ahead of Sam Kerr’s 28 and becoming the club’s outright leading scorer. Kerr has yet to score since returning, leaving Gotham’s attacking hierarchy an intriguing storyline.

The league’s most remarkable run remains Kaleigh Kurtz’s. The defender is reportedly on 128 consecutive regular-season appearances and 11,592 consecutive minutes, both NWSL records. The streak began in 2021, making it a sustained test of fitness, selection and consistency.

Kate Del Fava’s record is just as striking in a different way. The report says she has played every minute of all 67 regular-season matches in the Royals’ expansion era, totalling 6,030 minutes.

A tighter Golden Boot race

Banda remains the benchmark, with the update listing her on 12 goals, but her advantage has narrowed. Temwa Chawinga moved to nine, level with Ashley Sanchez, while Trinity Rodman reached seven for the Spirit.

Chawinga’s pursuit carries extra significance. The report says she is chasing a third consecutive Golden Boot, which would match Kerr’s league record from 2017 to 2019.

Streaks shaping the league

Angel City reportedly recorded three consecutive shutouts, moving within 52 minutes of their club record. Maiara Niehues scored in a fifth straight match, while Karlie Lema matched Bay FC’s record with goals in three successive games.

Racing Louisville also ended a club-record five-match losing streak with a draw, and Leif Gunnar Smerud reportedly became only the fourth coach to win his first two NWSL matches.

The next major test comes with the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Banda and Chawinga are expected to depart for Morocco, potentially reshaping both the Golden Boot race and the title picture just as Week 13’s milestones begin to accumulate.
