Arsenal, Martinelli and the Antonio Nusa Transfer Race

Martinelli holds the key

Arsenal are not actively trying to sell Gabriel Martinelli, but reports suggest an offer above £51m from Europe or Asia could prompt a rethink. That would create both the space and the financial argument for Antonio Nusa.

The Norway international is valued at £51m by Leipzig, making him a costly replacement or addition. Arsenal’s attacking options have already shifted, with Leandro Trossard joining Besiktas and Christos Tzolis arriving from Club Brugge. Missing out on Morgan Rogers has also left the club with another attacking decision to make.

Nusa’s appeal extends beyond potential. He recorded four goals and three assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances last season, then enhanced his profile with Norway at the World Cup.

Rival clubs are circling

Arsenal are not alone in monitoring Nusa. Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and Roma are also reportedly considering moves, although each faces a different obstacle.

Tottenham need another wide player, but must first resolve the futures of returning loanees Manor Solomon and Mikey Moore. Their summer spending has already been significant, adding further pressure to any decision on Leipzig’s valuation.

Milan have reportedly made Nusa a priority and could look to fund a deal through the sale of Rafael Leao. Roma, meanwhile, are said to be ready to test Leipzig with a bid around £38m, below the German club’s asking price.

Patience or opportunity?

For Arsenal, waiting carries a clear risk. Nusa’s World Cup performances have increased competition, while Milan and Roma are reportedly pushing the player towards a fresh challenge.

The next stage will depend on Martinelli. If his future remains settled, Arsenal may stay cautious. If a major offer arrives, Nusa could quickly become one of the club’s leading targets before the next transfer window closes.
