DJ Jack Kristian Cheshire on Coventry City's We Are Back Live

A supporter before the performer

The report says Cheshire’s connection with Coventry City began with a Junior Sky Blue season ticket. Even after moving to the United States, he continued following the club through its highs and lows.

That history gave the celebration a personal edge. We Are Back Live was held in May to mark Coventry’s reported return to the Premier League, turning the event into more than another booking for the DJ.

From missed flight to main stage

Cheshire reportedly already had flights booked home after Coventry secured promotion. When the celebration was announced, he began searching for a route onto the bill, contacting “praticamente todo mundo” before an introduction through a former colleague of his mother opened the door.

His first set was timed around the team bus arriving, while a second came before The Enemy performed. For a lifelong supporter, the setting mattered as much as the audience.

He added that it felt personal because “eles são a minha gente”.

Dallas cannot replace Coventry

The Dallas appearances reportedly placed Cheshire beside some of football’s biggest international occasions, but his Coventry set carried a different kind of pressure. He prepared specifically for the Sky Blues crowd rather than delivering a standard festival performance.

As Coventry moves into its next Premier League chapter, Cheshire’s story offers a reminder that football celebrations are often most powerful when the person on stage is part of the journey too.
