Cincinnati Girls Soccer Forwards Watch List Expands to 16

Returning scorers set the pace

The reported production is substantial. Kiley Smith of Bishop Brossart scored 38 goals and added 17 assists last season, while Kendall Hanlon of Western Brown had 31 goals. Averie Layman of Batavia and Tylee Littlejohn of Purcell Marian also return after 30-goal seasons, the report says.

Those totals give the watch list a clear standard to chase. But repeat scoring is never automatic: opponents can focus their defensive plans on established finishers, making the support around them just as important.

Wiesemann’s move adds intrigue

Anabelle Wiesemann is reported to have moved from Franklin County in Indiana to Harrison. The report credits her with a school-record 44 goals last season, after 32 as a freshman, and says she is considering several Power Four college offers. Her arrival could reshape Harrison’s attack, though the transfer and its impact remain developments to watch.

The list also features college-bound players. Addy Zawaly of Mariemont, reportedly committed to Wisconsin, is coming off a 20-goal, 11-assist season. Poppy Wakefield of Springboro is reported to be committed to Kansas State.

As the season gets underway, the test will be whether last year’s leading scorers can sustain their output-and whether new team settings bring different combinations to the fore. Early results should show which names on the expanded list can turn preseason attention into another productive campaign.
